Phone numbers & KYC
How numbers reach you
Voxy operates a global pool of phone numbers and allocates them to workspaces on demand. Coverage in 30+ countries.
KYC pre-requisites
Before any number is allocated, the workspace must upload:
- Government-issued photo ID (front + back)
- Company registration document (tax/VAT ID where applicable)
- Authorization letter signed by the responsible party
Documents land on a platform-admin review queue at /admin/kyc. Approval is typically within 1 business day. Rejected documents come back with a reason; re-upload is free.
Buying a number
At /workspace/phone-numbers → “Browse pool” you see available DIDs with a monthly rental price. Click “Buy”:
- Atomic allocation: pessimistic-write lock prevents two workspaces buying the same number.
- The number counts toward your plan's dedicated-number allowance.
did_routesrow created mapping the DID to your workspace.- Voice routing is regenerated and reloaded so calls land within seconds.
The number is live within ~3 seconds.
Binding to an agent
Open the number detail page and pick an agent from the dropdown. From the dialplan's perspective an inbound call to this DID is now handled by the chosen agent's prompt, voice, KB, and tool set. Re-binding is instant.
Releasing a number
Click “Release” on the number detail page. The DID returns to the platform pool; the monthly rental stops at the end of the current cycle (no proration). The dialplan reload removes the route.
